These past two days have been slightly hectic so my apologies for the delay in blog posts. Yesterday (the 16th), started out with a morning trip to the local college here, RMIT. They are known all over the place for their school of building science or construction management. We met in one of the schools board rooms for some lunch and then headed to a high rise that was in the process of being constructed by a company called L.U. Simon. It was a really interesting and got to see a bunch of neat things that are going on in building techniques here which really aren't all that different from how things are constructed back in the states. After getting the tour of the 22 story apartment building for a few hours, we all headed back to the apartments sweating since the last few days here the heat has really been turned up. We didn't have much time to relax before heading to the Australian Open to watch Roger Federer and Caroline Wozniacki! It was an awesome experience to witness first hand just how great these two players are. Even though it was the first round and they both demolished their unknown opponents, it was still one of my favorite things that we have done this trip since I used to play and am a big tennis fan. Here are a few pictures from the matches.
Seeing the sun going down in one of your pictures reminded me of how hot it was during that first match, when the sun was beating down on us. Whew it was burnin' up in there! You got some really great shots of the athletes. I know going to the Australian Open was probably a lot cooler to you, since you actually play tennis. By the way, thanks for teaching me about the scoring, and explaining what was going on to me!
