Koalas and Kangas

Koalas. They look all fluffy and cute but are possibly the most boring creatures on this planet. We left for the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary around 1:30. I was expecting to get to the sanctuary and find koalas crawling around everywhere, however this was not the case. They had all of the koalas in little shed-like enclosures hanging out. There was a place where you could pay 16 dollars to hold one and get your picture taken. I decided that I would save my money and not do that since a meal here just about anywhere you go is about that much. However, feeding the kangaroos was right up my alley! Plus it was only 2 dollars. After spending a few hours there we all headed back to our apartments to shower and relax for a bit before hitting the town for some dinner. The night life here is completely different than it is back in the states. On any given night in Auburn you can find people hanging out at the bars having a few drinks and hanging out with friends. Here, people don't seem to go out until the weekends and not before midnight. Huge difference from the states. We still enjoyed the night and met a cool guy named Slade from Auckland, New Zealand. So now when we get there we have a contact to show us the ropes so that will be neat! The library is turning out to be a nice place to use the internet and get out of the room aside from the screaming children on the first floor. Off to do a bit of research!
